Race Summary

The wind gods must have been somewhere else than the Potomac this Memorial Day weekend.  The small but competitive fleet was greeted to a near still river, as we watched the larger boats set out for Haines Point.  Given the conditions on the river and a westerly wind direction - when there was wind, PRO Bob Astrove chose to sail us in the cove.  The courses were windward leeward, initially one lap, then two, although the fourth and fifth  races were shortened to one lap.  Each boat won a race.  It seemed that it was whoever the wind gods smiled on, as there was no predicting where the next puff, shift, or hole would develop.  We had hoped to get a sixth race in, but in the end, it was not to be.  A brief teaser puff came up after the racing was cancelled, but this quickly faded.  John Majane had a new crew aboard and Charlie Krafft sailed with Matthew Chow.  The other three sailed solo.
